Hi, I’m Nellie. When I was 10 years old, I’d sit on the floor after dinner and rub my grandmother’s aching feet. She’d spent decades working double shifts at the local gas station—her shoulders hunched from restocking shelves, her hands stiff from holding gas pumps. I didn’t know it then, but those quiet evenings ignited something in me: the power of touch to transform pain into relief, exhaustion into ease.Fast-forward to my late 20s: I woke one night gasping, ribs searing like fire. Doctors dismissed me—“You’re young, just rest”—but rest didn’t fix the agony that stole my sleep, my breath, my life for five years. I felt invisible. Then I met a clinical bodyworker who listened. Who said, “Your pain is real. Let’s fix this.” Together, we turned my 20/10 pain into a 2/10.
I got my body—and my future—back.
That’s why I became a clinical bodyworker. At the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy, I trained in techniques that actually work for chronic pain and stubborn injuries. I led study groups, organized our graduation, and asked endless questions—because I’m obsessed with finding answers for people like us.Today, my practice is built on two truths I learned the hard way:1. Pain is not “all in your head.”
2. Relief isn’t one-size-fits-all.
I don’t do quick fixes or generic rubs. I create strategic, goal-oriented sessions to:* Melt muscle tension (so you can breathe freely, move without wincing).
* Restore range of motion (so you can lift groceries, hug your kids, garden again).
* Give you tools (stretches, ergonomic tweaks) to stay resilient between sessions.
Most importantly? I listen. Your pain is your story. I’m here to help rewrite it.

For the Aches That Come From a Hard Day's Work
If your job leaves its mark on your body by the end of every shift, you're not just tired—you're in pain. The constant strain of physical labor—whether it's lifting patients, swinging a hammer, or being on your feet for hours—creates specific patterns of tightness and imbalance. You've likely been told it's "just part of the job." I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to be.
My Approach:
I use targeted techniques like myofascial release and trigger point therapy to address the areas that take the brunt of your work. We'll focus on restoring movement to your shoulders so you can reach overhead without wincing, releasing your lower back so you can bend safely, and easing tension so you can end your day with relief, not just exhaustion.
When Pain Keeps You From What You Love
There's a special frustration that comes when the activities that bring you joy—gardening, hiking, playing with your kids—start causing pain or feel out of reach. That stiffness in your hip that cuts your walk short, or the ache in your hands that makes pulling weeds miserable, is a signal, not a life sentence.
My Approach:
Your body should be an ally in your adventures, not an obstacle. I focus on improving mobility and joint function to help you move more freely. By releasing restrictions in the connective tissue and addressing muscular imbalances, we work so you can get back to your passions with confidence and comfort, not apprehension.
For Pain That Others Haven't Understood
The most isolating pain is the kind that persists without a clear cause, leaving you feeling dismissed or unheard. If you've been told tests are "normal," to "just rest," or that it's "all in your head," I want you to know: your experience is real, valid, and deserves a thoughtful investigation.
My Approach:
This is where my own journey with chronic pain directly informs my practice. I start by listening deeply to your story. Then, I use detailed assessment and goal-oriented techniques to look for the underlying source of your discomfort, not just the symptoms. My goal is to be your partner in finding a path to relief where other avenues have fallen short.
